Engine prep
Hello everyone, I wanted to ask if anyone could guide me to the thread that talks about prepping an engine. My 30 is due back from the body shop on may 21st, and I need to get the old 355 fired back up. It has been sitting and not started for about 2 years. Some of the basics I remember from reading the thread was to pull the plugs and put some kind of special oil down into the cylinders. To put some needed lubrication between the rings and the cylinder walls. Also I remember something about getting an old 350 distributor shaft and make a bit out of it so you could attach it to a 1/2" drill to spin the cam and valves. Basically turn the upper motor assembly for lubrication purposes before firing up the motor. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.Life is like a hotrod......it goes fast, so keep one foot close to the brake. a30coupe
I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
