    71 performance 302 parts in 93 5.0???

I have a stroker 302 in my 71 mach 1 mustang that im swapping out for a high performance 429. I also have a 93 5.0. Lately the rockers have been ticking like crazy and its driving me nuts. The engines been rebuilt i just can seem to adjust the arms right. Does anyone know if the newer roller rockers in my 71 302 can be dropped right in the 93 5.0? Are some of there parts compatible from a 71 302 and a 93 302????
    thanks Vince

Your '93 uses a 5/16 rocker bolt that is non- adjustable. Your roller rockers probably are made for 3/8 rocker stud and nut. Without drilling your 5.0s, you will not be able to swap rockers. Which rockers are ticking? The '71s or the '93s? Other than the valve train, all 302s, 5.0s etc are essentially the same. They made some changes through the years, but all will interchange with little or no modification. Right now, I'm getting ready to fire my new 302. It's a '91 block, '65 289 heads, '68 crank, etc, so as you can see, they are all pretty compatible. Gimme some more details, and I may be able to help more. Small block fords are the on thing I know alot about.

There shouldn't be any adjustment involved in your '93. They are simply torqued down to something like 18 or 20 pounds. If the bolts are not torqued down, it's a wonder it still runs at all.
