Is there a site out there with all of the ford Casting numbers? I found one place but, it was a $25 membership fee.
I have a 302 and from what I've found out on my tranny it's from a 1980 Thunderbird and is an automatic transmission. I'm even having trouble finding what the stock horsepower is on the engine. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Ok you need to give me some Info. If you take off a valve cover it should have the size engine and the year for the heads.
the serial for the block is above the starter. These are only good if it is truely stock. and the block and heads match the same year.

Thanks guys. This is my first project on my own without my dad lookin over my shoulder so, I'll probably have a lot of stupid quetions. But, I'd rather ask and learn than never know.

Here's a site you might like to check out.
Your engine is covered here if it is truely
a 1980. If your trying for more Hp. try
switching to an early set of heads with
closed chambers but you'll have to watch
the valve to piston clearance.
