Options for performance

i got a 352 fe block ford galaxie. i was thinking of getting a high cam with rough idle any suggestion or where i can get one? Also wondering if anyone knows where i can get a 2 4bb intake and carbs? Also wondering if anyone knows where i can get headers for my 63?

Other than using the stock shorty headers which are getting pricey at over $600 a set on eBay try Crite's headers. As far as the 2x4 goes check eBay. DSC also sells them complete but over $1600 complete. There is a guy on ebay selling carbs for a great price for the 2x4 sorry don't know who though. It came up on another forum. www.dscmotorsport.com check here for some priceing and part ideas. Keep checking the classifieds here and clulb cobra and fordfe.com to shop for deals. You can find some good ones but it takes a little time sometimes. G.

forgot to add but I'm sure you know the different size heights of the manifolds. Lowriser, mediumriser. hightriser. A low riser 2x4 would be correct. Not sure if you would have clearance problems with a mediumriser or not but a guy selling one on www.fordfe.com for $650 in the classifieds page 2. G.

A 428 crank is an inexpensive choice giving you a 410. You'll need to match pistons for the increased stroke but some of the after market sources offer them in a stroker kit. I'm sure they break them out also. Diamond and Ross pistons should be able to hook you up. A nice cam and some heads if your budget allows. Most like the Edelbrock heads but the Shelby heads are very close in price at $2100. The Shelby heads have come down a bit in price as Edelbrock was killing them in the market. Figure out a reasonable budget and see what your options are. Depending on what heads you have you can port them and upgrade the valves to save some cash. G.

As usual, FFR comes through with the right answers on an FE motor again. Eventually, going to pick his brain on a big inch FE for the Ranchero, should I ever manage to have time to get back on it. Thanks for sharing all the good info, FFR 428.

By the way, Galaxie guy. I have a set of 390 4V heads laying around, if they would help the performance issue on your motor. Let me know if you are interested.

DOH forgot about the heads sorry. Late 70's FT truck heads off a 360,331 or 361. Date code Jan 16th 1976. Some had hardened seats even. Dave I'd be glad to help just let me know. G.

And if your wondering about the 76 date code FT engines were used in trucks until the late 70's. 77 or 78 I beleive. G.
