Thread: lowering compression in a 352 4 bbl

I have just bought a 65 galaxie with a 352 4 bbl motor that wants to ping with regular gas,I was told it had around 10 to 1 compression so what can I do to lower it a little so it will run on regular.

Let me rephrase that question,would putting 2 bbl truck heads lower the compression as I dont know if I would want to put a water injection system on it as the motor is going in my 70 F250 beater when I find a good 302 for the 65.

If you don't know the cc of the 2bbl heads give us the casting numbers. I'm showing the same cc's for most of the 61-66 352 heads at 71.2-74.2 cc's. G.
