bigger valves
I have a set of C6AE-R date codes 6A18 & 6A26, standard valves,double springs,
2.26x1.34 int. ports, and have the 16 bolt exhaust pattern.
These look like a good candidate to modify to the larger 2.09 1.66
valves. Will this be able to be done? Or should i just get a set of 428 CJ heads. And im not sure what the chamber size is on these heads , appear to be in the 72-74 range.
Goin on 390 .060 over using flattops with .010 deck clearance, wanting to run around 10.0-1 comp.

these C6AE-R heads came off what looks to be a 352 bored .040
and it also had the S C6AE- 9425G intake which is a GT intake i think. Also on these heads the exhaust ports are only 1.62" tall.
I also have a '66 390 GT with the C6AE-U heads, but have the smaller intake ports, and the chamber size is similar, and had a C2AE 9425C intake, which has laeger ports. This block a C6ME-A has the oil passage enlarged to 1/2", did they come from factory like that?
So which heads should i use ?

Thanks guys! It's been a long road. Fun doing finishing work for sure. Getting the dash ready for paint and some interior trim. Have to do some finish work on the aluminum headliner before...
