68 390 Throttle Cable mounting bracket
I am currentl installing an edelbrock 650 cfm carb on my stock 390 manifold. The car is a galaxy 500 converible with automatic tranmission. I have installed the ford throttle linkage adapter from edlebrock for the automatic kickdown lever. My problem is with the stock throttle cable mounting bracket that bolts to the manifold. The stock location does not place the throttle cable far enough out to clear the carb linkage, and it is preventing me from attaching the throttle cable to the carb. Has anyone dealt with this problem. In contact with edelbrock, they say they make no adaptor for the 390. Does any one know of a manufacurer or solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Fabricate an adaptor or have one fabricated by a professional, if nothings made for that motor, that's what you'd have to do but, there probably is somthing made for it out there but, I'm not shure where to get it.You don't know what you've got til it's gone

A tech with edelbrock said to try Lokar Performance. I checked out their website, there appears to be a bracket that might work. However, it appears that it may not clear the automatic kickdown lever. Lokar was closed when I tried to contact them. I will have to try them tommorrow.
Anyone else have suggestions?

I have a different carb setup (dual 450cfm Holleys) on my 390 but I just installed the Lokar bracket (http://store.summitracing.com/partde...K%2DSRK%2D4000) and it worked great. I also have their throttle cable which is a quality piece.
