    I'm sorry to keep bothering you folks but I'm so frustrated. If you know the history of my problems you can understand. I finally got some special header gaskets from Remflex after getting 2 damaged pairs in the mail. Just finally got this motor back together after spending $700.00 to have the heads valve guides replaced along with a valve job and new valve seals. I'm still getting smoke out of the driver's side exhaust and still have oil showing up on the threads of #7 and 8 spark plugs. They look just like they did before I took the heads in for repair. When the heads were off there was uniformity with all of the piston heads colors and the cylinder walls all looked equally good as well. Anyone know what I can do from here to see just what is going on? There is actually black oil dripping out of the bottom of the header where there is a small leak. Might be new oil mixing with the old that leaked into the header before the heads were repaired. Between the smoking and the dripping oil I'm just totally confused. When you listen to both sides of the exhaust, the passenger side sounds pretty smooth and the driver's side sort of sounds like it's a little rough sounding. Hard to explain but it's definitely not smooth like the passenger side. Where the heck is all of this oil coming from. Any advice would sure be appreciated.

    SOoooo you had the heads off but didn't pull any pistons , especially those two?????

    The Ford FE engine firing order fires 7 and 8 consecutively? and if the ywo plug wires are routed next to each other can cross fire the other cylinder---the factory wire routing of the spark plug wires on the left bank from the factory across the valve cover 7, 5, 6, 8------if you put the wires on the plugs without paying attention to things, you will have #7 wire on #5 plug, #5 wire on #6, #6 on #7 and only #8 correct---------this will cause problems with the way it runs----------------

    Thanks for posting and the pics--
    that was going to be the next thing I was going to bring up-----

    There also used to be an issue of burning intake valves in the cylinders where the pcv was vented to in the intake manifold------
