Glad you've got it coming together! I agree that a local shop should be able to do an adapter, but as you say the guy you've found already has the layout done and hopefully you get some benefit from that in the price. Once you start the project it would be great if you'd post some photos. It should look great in the truck!
You mentioned "....taking leave and plan on going home for the holidays" which sounds like you're active military? If so please accept a sincere "Thanks for your service!", and Godspeed to you in your travels home for a restful holiday.

Well thank you very much. I'm in the air force. I appreciate the support. I am trying to get some pictures posted now but its hard. My laptop broke and using my phone is a pain. I will be sure to get them up though.

Thank you for your service and may your (and all your fellow GIs) travel be pleasant and safe-------
I remember back in my military days of hitch hiking to get home and back---
If you have any questions about those blowers or the 390---feel free to ask in a post or pm----------I've a little history and experience using 'em-------

Nice to hear you're gettng parts together. I wanted to put a blower on my Hemi so bad, but it'll have to wait for a while. Thanks for your service and enjoy your time back home with your family and friends!

The old girl has some articulation! Very nice!

Looked up your location and seems like your in perfect place for off roading---unless some of those jocks want to strafe your ass for target practice
-
Let me take a moment and offer my thanks for your service and also sharing the pics.
We love pics 'round this place... 8-)

Thanks, yea trucks pretty good especially considering its mostly stock.
I better not be used as target practice haha. But yea its not bad here. Actually from outside of reno. Just wish there was more mud here.
And I'll post pictures up when i can. Its actually pretty fun. I'm always doing something trying to keep busy.
40FordDeluxe. What is stopping you from blowing your hemi ? If its money, that was my thing too. But after researching the 8v style blowers i realized i could do the whole thing like forged rods, pistons, cam and springs, oil cooler, pump, ARP's, manifold, adaptor plates, intake and carbs, everything for the build for not much more then buying a brand new blower. Its pretty do able.
Also in case anybody is thinking the 8v will be different or wont look good or anything like that. Ive got pictures of them on engines and in cars. They look different sure but actually unless your in to this stuff, the average person could never tell.
-
Last year I had a 8v blower and was going the route you are with an adapter and such. My hold up is my engine choice. Everything is expensive for these things. H beam rods, $640, Forged pistons $750 and up. Valve train to make it run, $1500 on up. That's why I'm waiting. I need to get the car a car again then worry about power adders and stuff. Plus I'm a project hound, and have too many . Ha :)

So ive been trying to figure out how much boost i can run. I'm planning on 8.5:1 compression. I'm not sure on the cam anymore but probably around 550 lift and 280-290 total duration. 112 lsa maybe 114. Heads are staying stock for now but i am looking at aftermarket eventually. Just trying to figure out what
sounds good for pump gas. I'm thinking I'm going to start at around 7-8 lbs. What do you guys think the max boost i could run is ? I'm currently look at meth injection as well to help with detonation. I would like to at least be able to hit 600hp.

An item of interest that I intended to mention earlier but forgot----------on the Ford engine with the dist right there in the middle front-------well I think you will get the idea-----
The GM engines, 354/392 hemi, 426 hemi with dist at the back or slanted to the side on front aren't an problem, but the FE are challenged for space --------
-
That is what the spacer is for. Wont be a problem with that. But they also make an offset diatributor. But that costs more then the spacer.
Update ... got the front cover for the blower. Will be rebuilding and converting it soon.
