Which Torque converter

I know this question has been beat to death, yet none of the posts addressed my same application. I will post the details below and let ya'll tell me what you think

-Car will not be a racer. Just a nice daily driver.
-750 CFM Vacuum Secondary Holley carb
-Ported Edelbrock Streetmaster intake
-Ported and Polished C8AE-H Heads w/new springs, hardened valve seats and new valves
-Comp 270H Camshaft with new lifters
-Double Roller Timing Chain
-HEI Distributer
-Electric Fan
-C6 Transmission w/ E40D Gears, extra clutches, custom valve body and shit kit
-Ford 9'' Rear End w/ 3.10 Gear Ratio

I was told just to keep it with a stock converter like a Dacco or Pro King from Auto Zone or Oreilly, but what do ya'll think?

I wouldn't trust Auto Zone or the other part suppliers. Call Comp Cams, tell them about your 'build' and what you plan to do (race, street, or both). They will tell you which convertor is best.

that call should of been made by you and cam company if the cam you picked would work with a stock stall ? then back up by someone that builds converters if still not sure by cam numbers and past experiences . your best bet is call the company that builds converter for the right part number. at one time there were many good companys that built converter s . less i missing something here i do not see engine size and CR of engine here and vehicle weight tire size that all playes in to it as well

I have to ask, who in their right mind would port a Streetmaster? That intake was designed to provide fuel mileage. throttle response and good, solid low rpm performance. There are hundreds of other intake manifold designs to choose from without ruining a good Streetmaster.......and I don't think any of us have any idea what motor you're working on. Furthermore, you don't mention the static compression ratio of the motor. Nobody can intelligently choose a camshaft for a motor without knowing the static compression ratio. If you do, it's just a guess and a case of "I hope this works"!!!!!!

its a FE block but what size ? post#3 engine size .CR ?

Which Torque converter ? Blaa blaa,,comes down to how much your car is in lb's in away and most importen is how low can your motor idel clean with out stalling. If you can get it to idel as low or lower then the stock auto it cam out of,it will work OK as is,only if you can not do that and your idel is up there above the stock stall,do you need a new converter

no not all your missing some things it has to do with how much Torque the engine make s @ low rpm and weight and gear size . tire size .. cam .. cr.. engines size ... cfm,,,,intake ..... if it can idle in gear with out pulling or stalling with foot on the brake all play s on to it so BLaa Blaa back at you

I've found that a custom cam doesn't usually like a stock stall.
