    I wondered that, too, Jerry. I guess, technically speaking, my 352FE in '66 F100 might also be considered a side oiler given all the oil running down the side of it!

    Ah, but I digress.....


    After a variety of google searches, the only Ford FE engine I've seen classified as a "side oiler" was the 427, which was also offered in the "top oiler" configuration at some point. I didn't bother to post the years here.
