More block questions
I was out looking over all these blocks that I can choose from and there is one thing that I have a big question on.
Is there any casting numbers or stamped numbers on any of these FE blocks to tell ya what year or what size they are?
I put a mic to 'em and some are standard 390 bores while others are 4.13 bores. How do I know/tell if the 4.13's are 428 blocks or 390's that have already been bored?
These blocks are out in an open yard and are all rusted and dirty, and some are short blocks and others are completely empty and one is a complete '67 4bbl engine(according to the intake number) but that may not even be the right intake for that engine.
Is there somewhere on these things that have a C3OE, C6OE etc., type number?
If not, I assume there is no such thing as a numbers match Ford out there. Huh. Thanks for the help.
I forgot to mention one thing, There is one of 'em out there that doesn't have the "352" cast into the normal place. It is clean except for a 2 digit number up there like all the rest. Why are all the 2 digit numbers above the "352" number different?Last edited by FEforMe2; 03-09-2004 at 02:10 PM.

Thanks, That 428 Cobra Jet URL was the one! It helped tremendously, that's what I needed. Thanks again.
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
