I've always preferred pushing a string up a hill to pulling it, BUT, there's a lot of technology in your Hemi that's missing for the old FE series Fords.

Having said that, I say do it.

You'll have to come up with a good set of aluminum heads and a fairly stout roller cam, but you might just be able to pull it off

Beware of old geezers in Cadillacs!! Buying parts I don't need, with money I don't have, to impress people I don't like

Most likely, he is going to beat you. A 331 stroker should be enough, but add the charger on top of the mix and that car should haul butt. If not, he is either lying about what all is in there or something is wrong with it.

You are also pushing a lot of wind with a pickup. I had a 5.0 Ford engine in my Jeep Comanche pickup and when you got your foot deep into the firewall it was like you hit a brick wall after you got some speed up. Up around 90-100 it was like you put the brakes on.

But the only way to know is to line up with him and see. I just wouldn't put too big of a bet on the run, if I were you.

You think just like me It is lot more impesive to see a big heavy one showing those little (matchbox) fox body (tuner car lookin) how its done.

It has a Crane Cams PowerMax Hydraulic Flat Tappet, Lift: .537''/.537'', Duration: 288°/288°, RPM Range: 2200-5600. I'm pretty sure that is the cam that's in it

Do you think the stroker is needed or just good alum heads and diff cam1973 Ford F100 390 (the toy)
1995 Buick 4cyl (the gas saver)
2002 Tahoe 5.3 (the family ride)
 2004 Ram HEMI (daily driver)
 2009 GSX-R 600 (the other toy)
