I have a set of h rods. My question is about the upper lubricating hole. It is much larger on the original connecting rod than the h connecting rod . Can this be a problem?
Thanx, Johan

Most newer bearings will not have any "spit hole" at all. No problem.
Or do you mean for the wrist pin hole???
i think barrys talking about the rod bearing piss hole for added oil on the cam ? Johan78 is taking about the wrist pin oiling hole that is smaller in the H beam rods then stock oiler hole ether way he is ok if the pins are sized rigth
Yep
The absense of the piss hole on the big end is just one of the factors that contribute to cam failures---that combined with after market cranks and rods that get used without checking side clearance----the rod side clearance is one of the most important items to check in todays all aftermarket billet, forged this and that builds------
some of the bearings still have the hole there but with hippo lifter or rework lifter bores adds oil. rod oiler still would be nice to have. i was taking to my buddy about cutting the v back in the stock rods at time of rebuild it would be more work on the H beam rods to get it around the rod bolt dowel
