i want to use a set of heads, in my 68 mustang, that just has the top/bottom bolt pattern. i want to use hooker headers. can you get to the bolts? also are these headers made so you can get to bolts on bottom? the flanges are made for them. anybody done this?
Yep and it's a PIA to do. Everyone has there little tricks. Small ratchets and universal extensions worked for me. This was years ago though. Can't remember the exact procedure but did involve some cussing as I remember. Lots of patience needed but can be done. What heads do you have?

Some of those heads, I don't recall which ones , can be drilled and tapped for the later pattern.
Like FFR428 said, you can get to the bolts with "headers" using a verity of tools. But don't try it with cast iron manifolds. They are too thick at the bolt hole areas and you'll never get them fastened down.
i have c4ae-g heads. yes you can drill the holes for the exhaust, but they have to have the little bumps cast in. mine don't. are these big intake port heads a poor mans cobra jet without the big valves?
The C4-G is a lowriser head with taller ports. The C6-R's are the poorman's CJ heads.
