    460 in my torino

i acquired a 1971 460 and started to build it up for my 1970 torino. along the way i purchased a magnum cam kit from summit for 429/460(cam,lifters, timing chain, springs, retainers). it has been installed and the cam lobes are about 1/4" set back in the block and are not alligned center with the lifter holes when all assembled and torqued with the timing gear. upon looking up the part number and getting the full description on the computer for the cam kit, it says it is for 68 and on 429s, but has a specific year for the 460 from 1972-1995. i was curious if the 71 and older blocks have a slightly different depth to the block or something like that? i ordered it with just the catalogue and it did not say anything except that it was for 429/460. im stumped and really annoyed, any help and info would be great----
