They are a bolt-on replacement, and will accept the 1977 intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, etc. Compression ratio ofyour 1977 460 will jump from 7.9:1 to 9.1:1.

However, the valve trains between the D3VE (<---1977) heads and the D0VE heads are different, so you will need the proper valve train to install the D0VE heads. Aftermarket valve train componentry is best.
