for a cheap but well effective upgrade you can goto a petronix unit, in the old distributor, keeps the stock look with the electronic power..... or you could go with an HEI or MSD unit
just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day

The Petronix unit works great on the old point type distributors.

As far as the clicking, how long have you had the car? Sometimes the lifters have a tendency to gum up and get sticky if the car sat for awhile or suffered through infrequent oil changes.....

A good temp fix on the manifold crack is to vee it out a bit with a grinder and JB Weld the crack. Then go looking for a replacement.!!!

If you go with the Petronix unit, get the newer one, which is called the Petronix II. The older version could burn out if you left the ignition on with the motor off. The newer version fixes this problem. Great system, I have one on my '71 Lincoln Coupe.

Sebas sounds like maybe an idle passage could be a bit dirty. Maybe the carb would need a kit and a good cleaning? Have you adjusted the idle mixture screws at all?

yes i did play with the screws after cheking my points, sparkplugs i have also check the carb and intake gasket for air leaks gaz pump ect... but it didnt go better it is still operational with no lack of power .
guess i will try a new kit on the carb and see thanks
