429 Oil Pressure Sending Unit
New Member has dumb question. My son and I aquired a '56 F100 with a late 60's 429 and have yet to be able to determine where the oil pressure sending unit is so we can install a new pressure guage. Head number is C8VE. Any one help us? Thanks much.

With my 460 from 71 the original sending unit sits behind the intake on top of the block. I used that for a gauge.
hope that helps

Thanks Bandido. Now that you mention it we have a plug in the block just behind the intake. Must have been where the sending unit "was" at one time.

Yeah I picked that one, because somebody in the Fordmuscle forum told me:
"I prefer the one at the rear of the block as it gives you a pressure reading after the oil has already fed the main, rod and cam bearings and 1/2 of the lifters. It gives you more of a true pressure. It's also easier to ge to when plumbign the guage."

It would be nice if this up and down crap would cease.
