429 vs 5.3 vortech ?????

A friend of mine is putting a 73 429 in his full weight 69 f100. The 429 has the stock intake and 4 bbl and the D3VE-A2A. What kind of horsepower should this thing make, what kinds of realistic 1/8 mile #s should he look for. Stock c-6 and stock rear gears are around 3:13.

When I sold him the truck it had the stock 360 and it was a dog.

We are going to set up a little "fun" race against my 99 Serria 5.3.

He has been really laying the smack talk down thick. And I just wanted to do my homework to see if I might want to take the kit off my car for a night.

This is a good friend of mine so all in all it is just for fun.

What did the 429 come out of? Is it a CJ motor, or a truck motor? Your 5.3 might be able to keep up, he'll probably take you off the line, but you might catch him as his truck runs out of breath. It's all in the powerband.
