You mean to say your parts store can't get it for you???
Here's a number of McMaster-Carr they are in Chicago. They have any size you want and if you can't get it in one piece they sell whats called Adjust -A-belt I've used them but they are expensive. Call 1-630-833-0300

belts use the part # in relation to the length so like I have a gates green stripe TR0426 on my '51 chevy which is 5/8" wide and 43" long, if I got a TR0427 or maby 0428 might be 1/2" or so longer even tho I just checked gates site and they are not listed as existing, it was an example. any good parts store will be able to figure this out and get you what you need.
this site is a perfect example of the way the part numbers work. 68 is the code for 1/2" and 56 is length in inches, so 6856 is a 1/2"X 56".Quote:

Belts aren't their listed length. If you measure your old belt with a tape measure, it'll be about 6" longer than what it lists .This is because of the device used to measure them, it has like a half a 3" pulley on each end that the belt goes over. Take your old belt to the store and compare.
It won't do me any good to take the old belt to the store as it is to short Because of my putting on offset on to make room for the suoer duel carb manifold. But thanks for the info on belt lenghts.
Thanks Denny. Very good idea going with a half inch belt.I had a feeling that the 3/8 was kind of wimpy.Quote:

I found out that parts coding for belts worked like this monday, these # are for Gates, Dayco which makes for Napa uses a simmilar coding but the width codings are diffrent. this info should make custom sizing belts a lot easier for people that know about it.Quote:

If you call the place I gave you there part # for a 3/8 x56 belt is6230K26 $7.13 manuf.# 3V560
Sure, it's too short, but having it there will help you guesstimate how much longer you need.
