I have a 36 ford truck. Hard starting etc. I want to upgrade the ingnition system etc. I can go with a 12volt MSD or Mallory system and use a volt-a-drop etc. for the guages etc. or stay with a 6 volt system. I talked to a guy in Texas at thepitstop.com. They are associated with Pertronix and will have a breakerless 6 volt system for sale in a couple of months in the $200-300 range. I am just wondering if anyone has converted a stock flathead to 12 volts and if that is the way to go??
