Rusted in King Pin
I hope the 600 people will know how to un-stick a rusted in king pin on my 850. Got the spindle assembly off, pressed out the upper rubber suspension piece, removed the wedge piece that holds the king pin in the spindle, removed the grease covers. The pin seems to be really rusted on to the spindle. Been soaking it with PB Blaster for a week now. Been applying heat every so often with a butane tourch.
Any suggestions? I have a press, is there a special fixture that holds the assembly straight. I have an acetylene tourch, how much heat can I apply before runining the spindle's temper.
Any info will help,
Thanks, Wayne
I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
