Hey Ryan, what is Torque Fest all about????
I haven't been to it, but it is a huge show filled with vintage hot rods, customs, including motorcycles and much more. They have a dirt track where you can drive on, they have flat track races, a swap meet, live bands, so much I don't even know. Check it out here:Vintage Torque Fest - The Only Traditional Hot Rod, Custom and Vintage Cycle Show in Iowa. May 3-5, 2013 in Dubuque, Iowa. They only allow pre 64 and have a set of guidelines your ride must meet to get in. I have a few friends that go every year and it sounds like it's a blast with way too much to see.
Oh yeah, they have a pin up model contest, art auction, and they donate proceeds to a charity. They have a country cruise on Friday night, vintage drag races at Tri-State Race way on Sunday.
I had never heard of Torque Fest before. Looked it up and it's kind of a different format from other shows. Lots of participation and involvement, as opposed to parking and dividing time between sitting near the car and wandering around drooling over other cars. Seems like a good format, but Dubuque is a bit more of a hike than Des Moines for Good Guys. Not saying no, but not jumping in as a sure thing, either...
It would be a bit of a drive for you. Heck, it might be a bit of a drive for me.
