Welcome to CHR, John. You're down near the old stomping grounds of my youth in SW Missouri, but working with a team in Ohio? First I've heard of the ECTA and their 9000' track, but it sounds interesting to say the least. From the Hooley link the last Bonneville info is some data from 2007, right? Got any projects of your own (street or race)?

We had a great weekend but it was very hot out on the concrete for 3 days. Our best run was in the 220 mph range.

Agree the 974 looks fast parked, good looking Henry, which car have you had the longest ?
The 974 car is about 8 years old. The J is about 4 years old. The team has members all over, Missouri, Ohio, Michigan, Oklahoma, Montana, Texas, Kansas, Iowa, and Pennsylvania.
Mick, The 974 is no longer competitive on the salt. The Blowfish made the record out of reach for some poor boys. It may go back to salt at some time in the future and run on a record in another class. My brother and I will be at Speedweek this year as tourist. Hooley is helping pit the 898 Studebaker truck of Norris Anderson.Quote:

The picture of the wheel stand is the only time it has ever done that. It was Hooley's first pass with the big block. The first year he ran the car, he used the basic small block motor that was used the first year at Bonneville.
Working with Hooley on these projects has been the experience of a lifetime.

So were you guys at the 50th Anniversary of MoKan Dragway in Asbury near Pittsburg, KS today? Looked like it was going to be quite a show today, and into tonight with a cacklefest around 10pm.
Hooley ran the Henry J at the Mokan anniversary. He developed some kind of mechanical failure. We are not sure what happened.
I helped with a friends front engine Hemi nostalgia dragster. It is a new car and we had a few bugs but it was a lot of fun. I used my old truck to pull him back and that was great.
