I plan on visiting on Friday afternoon. Going to MGM for Blackjack and dinner afterward. Of course Cobo is only 20 minutes from the house.

Definitely worth going to, as is the attached Greenfield Village . The only bad part is that to look at everything it takes just about all day for each. If you just take in the transportation part of the museum, you'll be about 3 to 4 hours. The museum also has an IMAX theater (NASCAR 3D is one of 4 movies showing). Opps, just noticed the village is closed for the winter. It used to be open year round.

Another place to consider is the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills (a straight shot up I-75) about 40 minutes north of Cobo. It also takes about 3-4 hours to see everything.

Both places are excellent. If you miss one, it's worth going to if you return for the Dream Cruise in August.

If the wife wants to go shopping, there is the Somerset Collection in Troy (Big Beaver exit, about a mile west of I-75).

There are all kinds of resturants in the city and the surrounding suburbs. Check out the Detroit City Guide which can help you locate some good food and other things to do at night. Enjoy the area and have fun.

well, i went to the autorama on saturday. This was my first time ever to the detroit autorama, and it was mind blowing. It took me nearly 9 hours just to walk through the entire show, and i could have just stood and stared at Chip Foose's '36 all day! I can't say enough about the show, and I am for sure making it a must-go show for every year. Congratulations to Chip Foose and crew for yet another Rilder award, "impression" has to be the most beautiful car I've seen, EVER!! There is some photo coverage on www.streetrodderweb.com already, and they also feature the "Great 8" cars. If anyone is debating about going to this show in the coming years, go, even if you ahve to drive from california, it is well worth it!!!
