    Degreeing a Cam-Step 2-Do I have this right?

Intake Centerline and Lobe Separation. Do I have this right: If my intake centerline is 106 and lobe separation is 110 then does that mean if my measurement after degreeing cam for intake centerline comes out to 110 (measured numerous times) then I've installed the cam straight up and its already 4 degrees advanced? Just trying to get a better understanding of these two things. Thanks,

Yep, you understand it correctly. Cam grinders cut 'em advanced because buyers tend to overcam the motor, so they put a little more bottom end in 'em, plus, I think, they do that because as soon as you begin runnin' the motor, the timing chain and sprockets begin wearing in and retarding the cam timing. So, if the cam degreed in within 2 degrees, in my opinion, you're golden.

What I've always wondered: if it doesn't measure up, then what? Only thing I know of is an offset key or replace the cam.
