350 motor mounts
I have installed a 350 crate motor into my 1986 monte carlo. I removed the factory 305 engine to put in the 350. My problem is that the 350 with the factory 305 clutch fan, installed on the 350 crate engine will not clear the fan shroud. The engine sits about an inch higher than the 305. Is there any kind of low profile motor mounts to lower the engine or what should a person do?

Do you have everything bolted up i.e. trans. cross member and trans. mount? A small amount one the back end can be a lot on the other. You may have some play on the trans. cross member. Raise it a tad..

If it's just interference with the shroud and you can't raise the back end a tad to fix it like Sfort says then either slot or redrill your holes in the shroud to shift it up a bit. That's done all the time on newer Jeeps when guys throw on a set of body spacers for more tire clearance but don't pick up the corresponding motor mount spacers.Roger
