Spark plug recommendations please

So it seems like I should try a *colder* plug than what I have now which is Champion*Single Platinum #3983*- Heat Range 12 - tapered seat.

In doing a bit of research it looks like I could go with the Champion*#3346, which is also a single platinum plug but with a Heat Range of 10 and it is gasketed seat vs. tapered seat and has a projected tip - not sure what effect the seat and tip have.

I could go with traditional plugs too, more options there it seems...

Also Resistor Core plugs are available, not sure if that would be applicable to my build, which is as follows:
-350 SBC, 9:1 compression
-Cam: 214/224 duration (280/290 adv) with .443/.465 lift @50
-GM Cast Iron Vortec Heads
-Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap Intake
-600 CFM Carb (mine is a Carter AFB)
-corvette exhaust manifolds

Looking for spark plug recommendations and suggestions please! I like to keep it low tech on things like this, $1.49 plugs you can get anywhere are much preferred to $50 a pair gucci plugs :eek:

I believe there is a list of heat ranges ,your auto parts store has it, it might be a good idea to go down a step with cheaper plugs if it doesnt cure the go to the next step down.

the spark plug transfers heat to the cyl head to cool it if you use the wrong seat plug for your you limit that heat transfer your plugs maybe getting too hot causing pre ignition or pinging ......ted

The plugs I was using before were not even making it into the comb chamber, they were too short! Don't ask how those got in there... :HMMM:

The question regarding tapered seat vs. gasketed seat (same thread depth) is in regards to the *colder* plugs I have been able to identify that will work with my application, the only difference is they have gasketed seats vs. the tapered seat plugs I am running now - not sure if that would be an issue or not, I suspect not but would like to hear from someone that knows for sure :confused:

Autozone can't do this, Pepboys can't do this, Kragen can't do this - all they can do is look up by vehicle, if I ask for the next colder plug they don't even know what I am talking about, kids these days... :whacked:

The next step down I have been able to identify are $2 plugs, heat range of 10 vs. 12 and have gasketed seat vs. tapered seat, otherwise thread pitch and length are the same.

What thinks ye?
