i ve been having the exact same problem on my q-jet. I'm assuming thats what Edelbrock carb your talking about. I tried different metering rods, power piston vacuum springs and different accelerator pump shots. The only other thing i could think to try would be adjusting the secondary pull off. i would be interested in hearing what any one else has to offer on this subject.
