Plug gap
Hi every one, i am trying to find a good plug gap, for my chevy 350
1969-1979 355 cid
63 cc performer heads
204/214 edelbrock cam
mallory unilite dist
edelbrock performer manifold and 600 carb.
right now i have them gaped at .45 just don't know if it is right.

i run .035 with my msd . your unilite dist they should tell you how much if you have any instructions if not call mallory . it will run on .035

I used to run at .042... MSD at 10.2:1 SCR with no problem. I've been told a bigger gap is touger on the coil and at higher compression there's more chance of misfire with bigger gaps so I've been at .035 with my new motor (10.8:1)... haven't tried much wider but I don't think there's any more power on the table...
I think .045 is probably fine for you but .035 would work more reliably and I don't think you'll find much performance difference between the two.
BTW: Thanks BigTruckDriver on the plug reading reference... I've seen a few of these for different applications but the one you reference is great.
