wellllllll its been awhile..........(.tuning 327?)
And even though I made it through auto mechanics II in Votech school Ive misplaced my mental notes (see oltimerz disease
) I finally drove my66 Jimmy, it ran pretty well till I stepped on it, then it sputtered a lil bit, not sure where to begin.. Im thinking carb may not be right.
the 68' 327 motor has Edelbrock 1406 carb and performerRPM manifold, Headers and flowmasters,it has a lopey cam but not sure of lift or duration or brand, It also had HEI but coil was burnt up,so I put stock distributor in it with new points, coil, plugs cap and rotor. parts that I had on shelf.
the HEI coil burned up because of too small power wire.
could the timing still be off a lil bit cause this??
what Dwell should I Set it to? How much Advance should I begin with??
Thanks In advance,

thanks Denny,
I used to drag race but that was 25 yrs ago.. I traded for the GMC last october. the wiring was(IS) still a nightmare but im getting it worked out. I asked in a suspension post about the power steering ( you can spin the wheel, it has no resistance)
since Im computer Illiterate I was unable to shrink my photos of gear box and pump enought to get them posted..
Do you know anything about this?? I was able to get photos in my album under Project Rat ride.
would you mind looking at them and taking a guess as to what it came out of?
my guess is early 70's truck.
thanks again

Thanks guys! It's been a long road. Fun doing finishing work for sure. Getting the dash ready for paint and some interior trim. Have to do some finish work on the aluminum headliner before...
