On a typical street motor, 300 hp with a single exhaust, much like a LS1 Camaro ( I use this car JUST as an example so the reader can get an idea of the original exhaust layout ).
When going from a 2 1/2" single exhaust to a 2 1/2" true dual exhaust, just how important is mandrel bent pipe over regular muffler shop pipe bends??
Personally I feel that on such a low HP motor it's not that big of a difference to justify the added cost.
Probably little if any difference on a low horse application. I just hate the looks of exhaust with the gimpy looking exhaust pipe bender bends in them. More work and more expense for mandrel bent tubes, but I still prefer them.....
you probably wouldn't even notice.... depending on the exact application of your motor and rpm ranges and such... you could actually lose HP by going to a dual exhaust... such as new F-150s, people put a dual exhaust on them and actually drop about 15HP but you can keep it a single and just change the muffler and gaint about 5HP

i would go with mandrel if you can, it might not make a huge diffrence now but you may be kicking your self later if you decide to up the horsepower. just my 2 cents.

I know I'll get flamed here but I want to a true dual on my daily driver, a 2004 Infinity G35. 3.5L V-6, 6500 rpm shift point, factory rated at 280HP, my mods are probably putting it somewhere north of 290-295.
Most good aftermarket bolt on dual systems are $1200+ . The custom mandrel bent exhaust done locally will only shave about $100-150 off that, mainly because it's aluminized pipe instaed of stainless.
What area do you come from Snow,Ice,Salt Water or Warm Dry Climate
How long will you keep this car Seems like S/S would be worth the $$
