Any idea what happened with the oil system? Sorry to hear of your loss...

Best to learn from it and move on...

not sure what happen.I just put it together and i heard a noise i though it was the started but i check that while it was runing it was good.i did noice that the day before the gague in the truck said no oil pressure.i though it was a bad gauge being stock.I just changed the oil and the pressure was good when i first started it and it when down to 10psi at idle but the noise was there. No bearing noise like the oil pump was coming apart. Then i turn the motor off and the gauge still said 10psi.Then i started it back up and up the rpm and still no oil pressure.

im having similar prob i put motor on tdc on #1 and the mark lines up on 0 on balancer, then i time it witout vac advance and if i turn dist to 10-12 degrees it runs bad, so i set it to where it ran best and starts best i end up with 18-20 initial and 45-50 total. just telling you this so you wont feel alone . if the balancer mark was off,the mark wouldnt line up on tdc right? well then if thats right then why is it taking so much timing to make it run right? sounds like to me that the dist is not in right or i need to throw adv timing light in trash cause something dont jive right.
