Dave FTE is kinda clicky sometimes. I've was banned from there for a while for more or less speaking my mind towards another member. No swears or anything...just headbutting for the most part. You know where I hang there and Art is a good mod. Bill was the one who had him delete everything and only select members were banned me being one of them. So my one aw shoot took away all my atta boys!! :whacked: LOL. Sheesh! :3dSMILE:

You should have told him that 10.2 isn't all that great . . . . in an eighth-mile track.
I will bet the old shop truck would run 10.2's all day.Quote:

Hey!!!! I'm a Ford guy!!!! But yeah, a lot of these Ford Truck guys take it as a personal affront if you mention that you switched your headlights to Halogen bulbs and use a relay!!!! They really go ballistic when you mention lowering a truck and installing IFS!!!!!   Man, I don't like anything to be left stock!!!!!!Quote:

LOL I'm a Ford guy too but like you...just can't leave things stock either. It's just not fun and with the all the new slick and trick oem and aftermarket parts out there you can have a blast!! I think if I ever did a numbers matching resto I'd be commited. Oh just the thought of all those paint daubs and chalk marks fading and washing away slowly as I drove the car.....oh wait...I'd be trailering the car then huh?? :HMMM:
I do respect some of these guys as it painstaking as heck finding all the correct oem parts... and it's interesting to see the cars as they were off the line. Just not my thing tho...**) Not to mention the prices they pay for parts.

Heck, when I look at a car in the showroom the first thoughts going through my mind are how I could mod the thing!!!! I did restorations for 5 miserable years and will NEVER consider doing another. Most of the customers want everything perfect, and done for free!!!! Hot rodders usually put a little of themselves into everything they build. Look at all the Deuce's at a car show, and no two of them are done the same. Every car is done with the builders intepretation of what a Deuce should be. I like to make all of mine unique, copying someone else's car or the factory's idea of what the car should be is like kissing your sister......
Yeah I did a couple of restos too Dave.......as far as doing the work I found it boring. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of research and parts hunting to make things right but when it's all said and done, there is absolutely no imagination or personal touches involved. Making sure you have the right marking and finish on a bolt head is not my idea of a fun day.
What I get a kick out of is seeing restored muscle cars and talking to some of the owners. These cars were MEANT to be raced, abused and thrown away. The big trick was seeing how much you could get away witout voiding the 50K warrenty. If you see a Hemi car with under 2000 miles on it you can bet it was done a 1/4 mile at a time.
Bring that up on some of the other forums and see how quick you get flamed :o
