I have a LS6(405)hp that idels at 800 rpm. Getting 400 hp from a cast iron motor w/o fuel injection & w/o a fairly radical cam is difficult thus, your idel speed will be high.....probably above 800.
Do you know the specs on the cam & the cr?Don Meyer, PhD-Mech Engr(48 GMC Trk/chopped/cab extended/caddy fins & a GM converted Rolls Royce Silver Shadow).
