i am running an edelbrock 650 cfm carb with electric choke. running wal-mart 91 octane fuel. (10.5:1 compression, D0oe cast 351 heads with adjustable rockers, exhaust thermactor bumps removed, gasket matched) edelbrock RPM-Airgap manifold, stock distributor with gear changed to match the flat tappet cam. I set my idle at 800 rpm with the vacuum advance unlugged and set my timing at 10 deg. adv. As soon as i plug the vacuum back in the idle jumps to about 1600 and the timing goes to 20+ degrees. everyone else that I have talked to recommended a holley 650 dp for me. I am buying one because this car will be raced, but I want/need to drive this thing now and I don't get paid till friday. Any help would be appreciated. No the dizzy is not locked out.
