Proper for what, gas mileage, max hp, middle of the road or what, I've run rotten chester 2 jets, up the current twin 500 edel's on a tunnelram on 350's that were in proper tune (ie not running rich or lean), if your going for middle of the road I highly recommend the grant 625cfm road demon.
400 cfm for normal street use
If you are running a stock or mild performance engine, an Edelbrock 600 would be a good choice.
anyway, the engine is pretty much stock. low-end torque is where i have my fun (rock crawling). it only sees high rpms in the mud. i can get a good deal on a 470cfm truck avenger, so the quadrajet might find a new home on top of a 396 in a 1970 chevelle, assuming the guy will budge on the price. it's a sweet car, IMO, even though it's not a true ss.
