If it's not water,,,,,, if it wants to die at idle, but runs when you give it gas, i'd say check for vacuum leak. Maybe a vac hose cracked or got pulled off ??
It's the easiest thing to rule out first. Spray some ether around suspect areas while it's running. If there's a leak the rpm will change when you spray it.
Might be dirt in the carb (Like the idle circut maybe) hard to tell with a keyboard.

"PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.
"LIVE" your life like you could die tomorrow.

Maybe a bad or loose plug wire??? Like Pro said, kinda hard to tell with just a keyboard. Whatever you find out, please let us know.
Good Luck,

Thanks guys! It's been a long road. Fun doing finishing work for sure. Getting the dash ready for paint and some interior trim. Have to do some finish work on the aluminum headliner before...
