carb problem
alrighty so heres my problem.... i got a 302 2bbl with a holley 2bbl that was rebuilt about a year and a half ago and hasn't been used for about a year.... idles great for me, accelerates smoothly unless you jump on it hard and then it just stalls, take note i haven't bothered with tuning anything yet, BUT doesn't cold start.... at cold start i cant get any fuel into the carb, if i prime it, it'll run great after that, so i figured ok fuel pump isn't putting sufficient fuel out with the starter cranking, so i checked fuel pressure, shes got 5.5lbs at idle, and yes i changed the filter
-
nope i haven't checked the hoses, choke is not hooked up and is just set wide open which is fine here in california, its nice and hot out.... holds fuel pressure when i shut it off
-
yeah i stuck a timing light on her and shes right on the mark.... i also check and the carb isn't spraying when i snap the throttle off or on......i'm gonna pull the float bowl open and check and see if its got enough supply
-
i checked the float bowl.... it was really really low, only about a third of the way up to the little sight hole.... i'm gonna adjust the float, but i gotta get to work for now.... told them to call me when some work comes in.... its no fun being paid flag when theres no work for you to do....

i decided to drive her down to work today and racked her up when it slowed down.... pulled the carb off and pulled it apart.... the float needle was gummed up and not opening too well, so i cleaned it all up.... adjusted the float level a little bit and now she runs like a champ....
