Do I advance the timing or retard it??
My small block Ford has my headers running hot to where they have discolored my ceramic coating on the headers, especially the passenger side. I was told that if I advance the timing that it will make the headers run cooler. Is this true? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You in advance. The Zoo Keeper

if you have a header running hot, you dont change the timing, unless its off. if the timing is set where its suppose to be, its not the timing. lean carb. is a good start.Mike

Its just the header, the motor itself is not running hot at all and the drivers side does not seem to be running as hot as the passenger side. It has a holly 750 double pump carb on it, so if I make it run a little richer that will help? Thanks,
