1985 Mustang
I just put in a new 306 into my 1985 mustang about three months ago and now I have about 1000 miles on it. For the last couple weeks it has been smoking white out of the tailpipes. At first I thought that it was too rich and so I changed the jets down all the way around. (by the way I am a complete novice at carbs) any ideas would be appreciated. Even to just point me in the right direction. I do not have any water in the oil, oil in the water, or bubbles blowing out of the radiator, so I don't think it is the head gaskets. Thanks in advance.

I think I would do a pressure test on the cooling system. If you don't have a tester, some parts stores will rent them out. Definitely sounds like you are getting water in the combustion chamber somewhere....

White smoke is usually water

no I have not needed to add any coolant. The car runs at around 190 all of the time. Going to get a pressure tester in a minute.

thanks alot. Did the hydrocarbon test on the coolant and it was a head gasket. THANK GOD!!!
