I have a 95 lt1 with opti spark that seems to have slow timing, it stalls and back fires under hard accel, Any help have little exp with this ignition

you need someone to scan the engine for codes. you can't change the timing, the computer controls that. I've had water get in the dist. and I've had the dist. go bad, and it spit and popped back under load and cranking over. sounds like its in the dist.
