    engine problem question.

I have a new 350 350 horse the problem i am having is that i started the car the other day for the first time as i started to break in the cam after about 3 minutes the headers on cylinders 4 6 8 started to glow red.I thought that there might be an intake leak so i sprayed some carb cleaner around the manifold to see if the idle would change and it did not. So then i was thinking that i might be running to lean so i put a different carb on and it did the same thing at this point i am not sure what it might be so if somebody might have any suggestions please send them my way.Iknow this is just a brief description but if you have a question please contact me thanks Jeff.

have you adj. the valves? the next thing i would do is check the comp. with a gauge and get a vac. reading.

Seeing as these are all on the same side of the engine, my guess is that this header might be a little restricted. An intake leak would usually only happen to one cylinder.

Furthermore, if your timing is retarded, it will run rather hot. Make sure the timing is set correctly.
Objects in my rear view mirror are a good thing unless,.... they have red and blue lights flashing.
