Well I set the timing up a little today. Moved the Dis. about 1". It is a little high I think. But motor don,t smoke anymore and it runs better. I don,t know where timing is set. Had it set like the book said. But it,s an old motor with a lot of miles and maybe sometimes you can thow the book out the window. Or maybe like one of you guys said the damper might be worng. I,m 57 years old and use to be a fair hand when it came to small block chevy,s. But you guys know a hell of a lot more than I did on my best day. Thanks for all the advice.
