    backfire

     



    Hi,
    i just got my old nova running and every time i tap the gas it backfires and flames shoot out the carb. Its an all stock 6 cylinder.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    either timing off or accelerator pump isn't working and you having a lean pop. I think timing right off hand though. back it down a little bit.
