Carter AFB vs AVS

i have a carter AFB competiton series carb that looks pretty much like a edelbrock that i rebuilt. and i have a carter AVS carb #4966S that i'm gonna rebuild for the hell of it..i was wondering how are they, good??bad?? the have a different secondary setup that i havent seen before... i'm running the AFB on my 1956 pontiac and it works not to bad. and i wanted to do this avs carb and try it and see how it works..is it any good or worth doing or am i better off with the AFB comp???**)

Rebuild the AVS and try it. Who knows?

My 440 GTX had an AVS, it was the smoothest powermaker I ever ran. But then it was factory equipment, and jetted right from the start. They're good carbs, but never gained the popularity of the older AFB.
