Tyler, they did that to the intake to make it work a little better at higher rpms...more like a single plane. It doesnt work great, but probably helps a little. Best thing is figure which one will work the best for you and go for it. It's always a little trade-off, you cant have both ends at 100%. As far as the cold blooded engine, mine does that too...nothing to do with the cam really, but your choke should take care of the problem. Is it working? Electric or manual? With a little choke when cold, and the little cam thing that steps up the rpm's when cold, you should have no problem. Could be as simple as a carb adjustment.
