ok so i got my 302 all put back together after the stupid camshaft dowel pin bent on me, the timing set is perfectly lined up, the dots are pointing at each other and everything.... i reset the distributor pointing at #1 at TDC... she wouldn't start so i retarded it a little... still wouldn't start... advanced it a little, sputtered.... moved the distributor up a tooth started and died.... advanced some more, starts and runs but only with a lot of gas, and misses on all cylinders half the time.... i can pull each plug wire one at a time and it changes no performance in the engine... so i tried pulling my pertronix unit and putting points in... wouldn't even start, i realised that the cam in my distributor was worn pretty bad, so i put another distributor in and she ran exactly the same with points and the pertronix unit.... i'm stumped now
