Yep vacuum. look at the vac for the booster.
everything seems to be tight every were i look how can i tell with a gauge
if its doing it at WOT then its not vac. because you dont have any. a vac. leak should be worse idling. that could be anything, need to tell us a little more. take the fan belts off and see if it stops.:HMMM:Quote:

if you dont know what you posted i sure the hell dont.
acceleration and deacceleration if you did what you said you did then the vac. would have changed enough so the noise would have changed with it.

Would I be correct in assuming it's the 650 double pumper posted here?
sorry....its carburated performer rpm intake 650 double pump holly
would a vacume gauge help me? how would i be able to tell
Most whistling of the type you describe are due to baseplate to main body gasket/alignment issues.
Comfortable taking it apart?
Only inside... hmmmm..
You have never said what the vehicle is... But if it's a later model all the heating and airconditioning controls under the dash are vacuum controls. Any one of a dozen things could be leaking under there and at the rpms you're talking about that's about the max vacuum. Stick your head under the dash and see if its louder.
Good disclaimer, Denny, or he might end up like the guy with the Winnebago. :DQuote:

This way you won't need the engine running, and you can eliminate the inside sources as the cause. Oh, and if you stick your head under the dash, make sure your not driving,
